CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A man connected to the shooting of a Springfield officer last year was arrested on Wednesday for multiple firearm charges and trafficking drugs.

The Chicopee Police Department states that its narcotics Unit, along with the FBI Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force (WMGTF), the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit, and the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU), investigated the distribution of illegal narcotics from 248 Nonotuck Avenue in Chicopee.

The target of the investigation was Alberto Torres, who had been released on probation following his involvement in, and arrest for, the 2024 shooting of a Springfield Police officer.
