BELL COUNTY, Texas — An 18-year-old is dead after a crash on SH 36 in Coryell County, the Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed.
According to Texas DPS, the crash happened along SH 36 in Coryell County, just west of Long Bridge, around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
DPS said 18-year-old Romi Jolee Bomar of Gatesville was driving east on SH 36 when she lost control of her vehicle on a curve on the wet roadway. Bomar's vehicle reportedly crossed into the path of an oncoming pickup truck and crashed into the truck.
Bomar was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with "incapacitating injuries," where she later died, DPS said.
The department said the driver of the truck was also taken to the hospital with injuries, but is reportedly in stable condition.
