President Donald Trump on Tuesday delivered a rambling speech at the United Nations to champion himself and the supposed victories of his controversial administration, with one brag earning the immediate ire of critics on social media.

Before claiming to have “ended” seven wars and “defeated” inflation, Trump touted his crackdown on immigration as a “humanitarian act” that saves people from dying during their journeys into the US, and said he reached historic US approval ratings as a result.

“By them not coming, we’re saving tremendous numbers of lives,” he added . “My people have done a fantastic job in doing what they did, and the American public agrees with it. I mean, I was very proud to see this morning I have the highest poll numbers I’ve ever had.”
