Bill Nye the Science Guy has gone Hollywood (literally).

The legendary STEM educator, who taught basic science to wide swaths of America's children on PBS' "Bill Nye the Science Guy" in the mid-'90s, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Sept. 22, adding the coveted honor to a long list of distinctions.

In an Instagram post sharing photos from the ceremony, Nye, 69, expressed gratitude for the star, and for the science that made it possible.

"What an honor to receive a Star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Recognition by one's peers always means a great deal, but to have spent yesterday with many people who have influenced my career, contributed to my work, encouraged me, and supported me through all my ideas, was extraordinary," he wrote.

Comedian and game show host Ross Shafer spoke at the ceremony along with NBA star Jaylen Brown and actor/comedian Joel McHale.

"I love science. I love comedy. I love television, which was invented with science. Science is the best idea humans have ever had. I became a mechanical engineer because of it, and then entered the world of comedy too, which led me to my show that gave me the opportunity to teach so many people about the life changing world of science," Nye continued in his caption.

"All of my work has been a celebration of the passion, beauty, and joy of science - coupled with the Art of television and the moving image," he added. "It's been the experience of a lifetime spreading the lessons of science to people around the world and I know we all have the power to change the world because of it."

Nye, who sported one of his signature bow ties – this one bright yellow with a black stripe – was accompanied at the ceremony by his wife Liza Mundy, 65, whom he married in 2022. A journalist and author, Mundy mentioned Nye's mother, cryptanalyst Jacqueline Jenkins-Nye, in her New York Times best selling 2017 book "Code Girls: The Untold Story of the American Women Code Breakers of World War II." Nye reportedly reached out to Mundy via email and sparked a new romance.

Mundy wore a crimson strapless number to the ceremony, paired with a sleek set of pearls and heeled Mary-Janes.
