Chandrapur: A 19-year-old student from Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district, who had scored 99.99 percentile in the NEET UG 2025 exam, died by suicide on the day he was to leave for medical college admission.
The student, identified as from Nawargaon in Sindewahi taluka, had secured an All India Rank of 1475 in the OBC category. He was preparing to travel to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, for admission to an MBBS course.
According to police, Anurag was found hanging at his home before leaving for Gorakhpur. A suicide note was recovered, in which he reportedly wrote that he did not want to pursue a career as a doctor. The Navargaon Police are investigating the case.
