A giant structure around 9.2 billion light-years from Earth and measuring around 1.3 billion light-years across is raising huge questions about our understanding of the universe. The more we learn about the world and the cosmos, the more we have had to let go of ideas of our own importance. We discovered that the world is not the center of the universe around which all objects rotate. Then we found that the Earth rotated around the Sun, and believed that that was the center of the universe instead.
