CLINTON, Tennessee — A Clinton woman pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide two years after a crash claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Clinton Highway.

According to Anderson County District Attorney General Dave Clark, Alexys Barton pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide by recklessness on September 15.

On the morning of July 27, 2023, a car crossed over the center line of Clinton Highway near Old Clinton Highway in Anderson County, hitting and killing 44-year-old Christopher Phillips as he was riding his motorcycle to work.

Clark said Barton was driving recklessly when she crashed head-on into Phillips' Harley Davidson motorcycle.
