Battle's brother, Tyus, was an All-ACC guard at Syracuse. Their father Gary was a Division-II All-American at New Haven.

Battle becomes the fourth commit of IU's 2026 class.

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana women’s basketball landed a verbal commitment from 4-star combo guard Gigi Battle on Wednesday, she announced at her school while live-streamed on Instagram.

She made two posts on her own page , "Go Hoosiers!!!" and "Hoosier Nation, I'm home!"

Battle, a 6-foot wing, is the 38th ranked overall player in the 2026 signing class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings .
