WASHINGTON, USA — Travis Decker, the man believed to have killed his three daughters near Leavenworth, Washington, earlier this year, has been declared dead by the U.S. Marshals Service.

The declaration came as part of a court filing Wednesday in the Eastern District of Washington to dismiss Decker's criminal case and arrest warrant.

"The United States Marshals Service has advised the Defendant TRAVIS CALEB DECKER is deceased," assistant U.S. Attorney Caitlin Baunsgard wrote in the filing.

A Chelan County Sheriff's Office spokesperson told KING 5 it's still waiting for DNA confirmation on remains recently found and presumed to be Decker. They were found in a remote wooded area south of Leavenworth during a search involving multiple agencies last week.
