BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) — The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) charged arrested a Bluffton woman Wednesday and revoked the retail license of Hewitt Oaks.

Bethany Boles Hewitt, 49, was charged with operating without a retail license.

Hewitt Oaks, an event and wedding venue in Bluffton, had its retail license revoked on Feb. 12 because of unpaid business taxes.

SCDOR said that according to the arrest warrant, Hewitt continued to conduct events and weddings without the retail license.

According to the warrant, the unpaid taxes amounted to $174,978.92, as of Sept. 22.
