Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio almost went by a different name.

Indeed, the Oscar winner almost followed in the Hollywood tradition of swapping out his given name for a stage moniker.

“I finally got an agent. They said, ‘Your name is too ethnic,’ Leonardo said while appearing on the Sept. 24 episode of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce ’s New Heights alongside Benicio Del Toro . “I go, ‘What do you mean? It’s Leonardo DiCaprio.’ They go, ‘No, too ethnic. They’re never gonna hire you. Your new name is Lenny Williams .’”

The 50-year-old explained that he was around 12 or 13 when his agent suggested the name change, and that the proposed new last name came from his middle name Wilhelm.
