LOUISIANA (KTAL/KMSS) — Louisiana is among nine states that plan to swap voter rolls with the state of Texas.

The move is the latest effort to prevent duplicate registrations. According to Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson, the agreements establish a secure and cooperative process for comparing voter registration records.

“These agreements are a significant step in our ongoing commitment to maintain accurate voter registration lists and upholding the integrity of our elections,” said Nelson. “By working together, we are demonstrating how states can responsibly share information while protecting voter data.”
