City of Marshall alerts parents to Amazon recall of toys given at children's event

MARSHALL, Texas — Items distributed by the Marshall Public Library are now among products under a recall notice from Amazon.

The City of Marshall described the product as party favors given between June 20 to 30, 2025 during a scavenger hunt. The product reportedly contains "level of phthalates that exceed the federal ban. Phthalates are toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects."

Library officials said the recall does not include the croc charm prizes distributed during the 2025 Summer Reading Club. Parents are asked to discard these items immediately.
