The man who died after he was found unresponsive on an Epic Universe thrill ride last week was described as a theme park enthusiast who was fully independent despite a spinal cord injury and use of a wheelchair.

In a news conference Wednesday, civil rights attorney Ben Crump said, "we have to know what happened," to Kevin Rodriguez Zavala.

The 32-year-old was found unresponsive on the Stardust Racers roller coaster and later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Universal Orlando officials.

The medical examiner confirmed that the death was accidental, citing multiple blunt impact injuries .
