NEW WINDSOR – An investigation into a domestic dispute at a residence on Vails Gate Heights Drive in New Windsor led to the recovery of two firearms – a .45 caliber handgun and a revolver-style pistol.

The weapons were recovered on September 16 following the execution of a search warrant.

The New Windsor Police Department Detective Division continued the investigtion and on September 24, detectives located and interviewed the person who was identified as a suspect in the case.

Brayan Hernandez, 24, of New Windsor, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm and criminal possession of a weapon, both as felonies.

He was held pending arraignment.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office and Newburgh City Police assisted in the investigation.
