Three weeks. That’s how long it took the New York Giants to decide they needed to make a change at quarterback.

On Tuesday, multiple reports indicated that t he Giants will start rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart in place of Russell Wilson against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. This left ESPN New York’s Michael Kay befuddled in his midday show.

“The only reason that Jaxson Dart should be starting is if he’s ready, and if he’s ready now, then tell me why he wasn’t ready three weeks ago,” Kay said, via Apple Podcasts . “What did he learn in those three weeks?”

You could tell this move might happen after the Giants’ 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The next day, Giants head coach Brian Daboll said he was doing a full evaluation of his quarterback situation.
