For the past few years, we've been talking about all the ways interior design has been rebounding from the era of hyper-minimalism in home trends. We've been seeing an influx of textures, patterns, and bold colors throughout the home as a response to the preceding all-neutral palettes. However, all trends cycle back around, and according to the color and design experts at Sherwin-Williams, next year will see a return to neutral home colors (or, at least, one neutral paint color). The paint brand united with its sister brand, HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams to name Universal Khaki as the 2026 Color of the Year . It's an earthy, mid-tone tan with a slight yellow undertone.
