SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Visitors on the LSU Shreveport webpage may encounter a large red alert when visiting the school's homepage.

The school reassures that this alert is due to a recent power outage that occurred during today's storms.

When speaking to a representative for the school, it was reported that the campus lost power during the thunderstorms on September 24, 2025, at approximately 12:45 p.m.

SWEPCO alerted the school that restoring power could last at least two hours.

As a result, the campus cancelled on-campus classes and activities.

The LSUS group exercise classes and flag football will also be cancelled for the day, including the closure of the weight room.

Although power has been restored, in-person classes are expected to resume as usual tomorrow.
