HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Harris County Sheriff's Office has released a sketch of a man accused of sexually assaulting a child in north Houston.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened on May 28 when the suspect, who was carrying a firearm, approached the child in the 16700 block of Ella Boulevard.

Deputies described the suspect as a skinny Black man between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a red tank-top style shirt resembling a basketball jersey, officials said.

A witness told authorities that they saw the incident, courageously stepped in, and scared the suspect away. The suspect reportedly fled northbound on Houston's Rolling Creek Drive, according to the authorities.
