Tropical Storm Humberto has just formed in the central Atlantic Ocean, about 550 miles east northeast of the northern Leeward Islands, according to the National Hurricane Center .

The storm currently has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and is moving to the west-northwest at 15 mph.

Humberto is the 8th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, and could become a hurricane by this weekend, but its track into early next week remains uncertain.
