Grandview Heights Secondary's senior girls volleyball team has won an annual icebreaker tournament for the second year in a row.
Entitled the Grizzly Growl, the competition saw 12 local high school teams play over two days Sept. 19-20 at the South Surrey school.
Teams from Grandview Heights, Brookswood, Pitt Meadows, Clayton Heights, Delta, Elgin Park, Samuel Roberts Technical, Seaquam, Salish, Grandview junior girls team, DW Poppy and the Earl Marriott B team played in the tournament, with the Grandview Heights Grizzlies beating Elgin Park 2-0 (25-22, 25-14) in the final for the win.
Elgin Park, in turn, beat Brookswood in the semifinals 2-1, while Grandview triumphed over Seaquam 2-0 in the semi finals to advance to the final game.
