SCHENECTADY — An equipment malfunction at the Rosa Road substation in Niskayuna caused approximately 7,500 National Grid customers to lose power on Wednesday afternoon.

According to National Grid spokesperson Patrick Stella, a feeder issue at the Rosa Road substation occurred at noon, knocking out power for thousands of customers in Schenectady and Niskayuna.
