Nadine Arslanian Menendez, wife of former U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez, has filed a notice of appeal for her conviction and sentence, according to federal court documents.
Arslanian Menendez was sentenced Sept. 11 to more than four years — 54 months — in federal prison for her part in a bribery and corruption scandal.
Arslanian Menendez was convicted on charges brought by federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York in a sprawling indictment that included bribery, extortion and obstruction of justice in a multilevel scheme that traded envelopes of cash, gold bars and a new Mercedes for official acts that benefited Qatar and Egypt. Arslanian Menendez received her sentence in federal court in lower Manhattan.
