LAFAYETTE COUNTY — A traffic stop on Interstate 70 In Lafayette County Monday ended with drug charges for a Kansas City man and a Grain Valley woman.
Lawrence Monreal Long, 42, and Halston Lynn Watley, 32, are charged with drug trafficking.
Long is additionally charged with evidence tampering and resisting arrest. A white powdery substance was allegedly located on Long’s person. He reportedly threw two more bags into a nearby grassy area and attempted to flee. Inside the vehicle eight grams of suspected fentanyl, 11 grams of a white rock substance and over $7,000 in cash were recovered.
Both parties are in custody at the Lafayette County Jail. Bond is denied for Long and set at $50,000 for Watley. No court dates are scheduled.
