Adelita Grijalva has won the special election for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District, giving House lawmakers enough support to force a vote on the public release of the Jeffrey Epstein Files .
On Tuesday (September 23), Grijalva, a former Pima County supervisor, defeated Republican Daniel Butierez , filling the House seat previously held by her late father, Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D), who died from cancer-related complications in March, per The Hill .
Grijalva’s election to Arizona’s 7th District, which includes much of the southern part of the state and part of Tucson, will provide the final signature needed for a bipartisan discharge petition to force a floor vote on a measure demanding the Justice Department release all remaining files tied to Epstein.
