Rescuers in southern Alberta are looking at bringing in reinforcements from the military in their search for a missing five-year-old boy.

Adam Kennedy from Alberta Search and Rescue says talks with the Armed Forces and other groups have focused on which resources would benefit search efforts.

Drones and helicopters hummed across a bright-blue sky near Crowsnest Pass looking for Darius Macdougall, who has been missing since Sunday.

RCMP have said the autistic boy from Lethbridge, Alta., didn’t return from a walk with his six young family members to their campsite at Island Lake Campground near the Alberta-B.C. boundary.

Kennedy says there are roughly 100 searchers on the ground and they remain hopeful Darius will be found alive and well.
