SAUGERTIES, N.Y. — Upstate Films will celebrate the restoration of the exterior of its historic Orpheum Theater with a community block party on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 6-9 p.m.

A street fair from 6-7 p.m. will feature live music and food for sale by Upstate Films and local vendors on Main Street between Partition and John Streets in front of the Orpheum. The evening will feature speeches by local elected officials and others who made the project happen.

A free screening of the Oscar-winning film “The Artist” in the main theater and a children’s film in Theater 2, will follow at 7 p.m.

The event will conclude at 8:30 p.m. with a ceremonial lighting of the marquee.
