KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The city of Knoxville released an updated plan for the sale and future of Chilhowee Park . Non-profit Emerald Youth Foundation is looking to purchase a nearly 13-acre parcel of Chilhowee Park with plans to build a new sports and community complex. This new plan reflects the concerns and feedback from the Knoxville community.
"These revisions were made exactly based on the input we got from the community," Mayor Indya Kincannon said. "I'm really pleased with the updates and I think the community will be too."
The contract has five key changes, according to the city. Doubling the restriction period from 20 to 40 years, meaning the property must be used for the purposes stated in the proposal for a minimum of that time. The Right of Refusal period would also be extended
