MENA, Ark. – Officials with Nidec Motor Company in Mena announced a $19 million investment to expand its capabilities.

Officials said the investment will enable a 61,000 square foot expansion and create 35 new jobs over the next five years. Aside from production expansion, the added space will increase capacity for a test lab and a customer demonstration room, officials said.

Company representatives stated that construction began in Q2 2025 and is expected to be completed by Q2 2027.

The company currently operates a 347,000-square-foot facility at its Mena site, employing roughly 400 workers. It has operated in Mena since 1966, producing U.S. MOTORS electric motors, primarily large industrial vertical and horizontal motors.
