The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, threw the seat down the 50 foot drop at Westfield shopping centre in East London on March 1. ‌

The 15kg seat narrowly missed passers by, with the teenager and his friend seen laughing and running away in a video that went viral on social media. Both boys were subsequently arrested for the prank video. ‌

During an interview, the 16-year-old told police that the dangerous act was "not that deep." ‌
