Attorneys for the South Dakota Board of Regents and the University of South Dakota art professor who was given an intent to terminate notice for his social media posts about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk presented both their arguments on the professor’s motion for a temporary restraining order Sept. 24.
They argued over whether Phillip Michael Hook, who wrote on his personal Facebook page Sept. 10 that he didn’t give a “flying fuck” about Kirk, should get an order keeping USD and SDBOR officials from retaliating against him, continuing his administrative leave, or holding a personal conference with him Sept. 29.
