LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) need the public's help in identifying a man accused of inappropriately touching a young girl last week.

In a social media post Wednesday, police said the incident happened on Sept. 18 around 3 p.m. near McCready Avenue and Richard Avenue.

LMPD said the young girl was assaulted while waiting to be picked up from a nearby private school.

The man allegedly approached the child and "inappropriately touched her" before running away. LMPD said the girl was able to capture a video of the man as he ran away.

"We understand the video may not offer much, but we're asking the community to help identify this individual," police said.

LMPD said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
