COLUMBIA, S.C. - In a pre-trial hearing Wednesday, a judge ruled to delay decisions regarding multiple filings made by ex-SC Rep. RJ May and the government ahead of May’s October trial.
The judge presiding over the trial, Cameron McGowan Currie, said that May’s request to change his trial venue cannot be considered until jury selection begins.
Currie said she was inclined to rule against the motion unless it becomes apparent that a competent and unbiased jury cannot be selected.
