Casey Cizikas was looking at the lineup for Tuesday’s preseason game in New Jersey when a realization struck him.

Not only was he the oldest player the Islanders would ice against the Devils. At 34, he was the oldest by a lot in a lineup heavy on AHLers and prospects.

“Other than [goaltender Marcus Hogberg, who’s 31], the closest guy, I think, was six or seven years younger than me,” Cizikas told The Post after Wednesday’s practice.

While Anders Lee, age 35, and Semyon Varlamov, age 37, will both have elder statesman status over Cizikas on the regular-season roster, the moment was reflective of a new reality for No. 53.
