The changing of the seasons is a great time to get outside and see Michigan’s magical transformation into autumn. It’s also a reminder that the Great Lakes State is home to five national parks and lakeshores and millions of acres of state land.
On Saturday, Sept. 27, the National Park Service will waive admission at parks across the country.
Daily admission, typically $25, is waived for Michigan’s five national parks. The state is also home to a 1,150 mile-stretch of the North Country National Scenic Trail.

Keweenaw National Historical Park
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore
Admission is always free at River Raisin National Battlefield Park in Mon
