A Cathedral City Democrat has announced his intention to run against Republican incumbent Greg Wallis for a California State Assembly seat.
Jason Byors, who owns and runs a computer consultancy, told The Desert Sun he decided to get into politics to push back against the policies of President Donald Trump.
"The reason that I got into this race was to be a voice to speak out against what’s going on in Washington," he said. "I thought if I go and beat Greg Wallis, and I go to Sacramento, I could work on bills that would affect people’s lives here."
