BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) - What’s good in Michiana? How about a $200,000 grant to fight hunger!

Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman announced its plan to battle hunger while supporting local agriculture.

One of the partners? Meals on Wheels of Southwest Michigan.

“The generosity of the Cook Plant Foundation, we are beyond excited,” said Meals on Wheels Southwest Michigan Executive Director Linda Tinsley. “This is going to let us launch this for the first year where we don’t have to charge those who are participating. They’re gonna get this food for free.”

Meals on Wheels isn’t the only organization at the event, but the Berrien Community Foundation and other local food pantries located across Southwest Michigan showed up to celebrate the announcement.
