Biotech research company permanently closing Shelton manufacturing plant

SHELTON, Conn. (WFSB) - PerkinElmer has notified the state that the company plans to permanently close its Shelton manufacturing plant.

68 employees will lose their jobs as a result.

PerkinElmer specializes in biotech research.

The closure is expected to occur in phases.

The first phase of employees to be terminated have already been notified. Their last day of work will be on November 24, 2025.

The rest of the employees will be notified of their termination no later than 60 days in advance.
