CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. — Calhoun County leaders have approved plans for a new development inside the county’s industrial park, a move they say will bring more jobs and revenue to the area.
Earlier this week, county council approved the sale of land on Sirens Lane to a developer who plans to clear part of the property and build new facilities.
Some residents had voiced concerns about the possibility of losing a 300-foot buffer of pine trees along the edge of the park. But John McLauchlin, the county’s director of economic development, said those trees will remain.
