The Trump administration has been finalizing a deal between Chinese and U.S. officials. According to one senior White House official, TikTok’s U.S. operations will be managed by a new joint-venture company.

ByteDance, TikTok’s current owner based in China, will retain less than 20% of the stock in the new company.

The deal aims to ensure that TikTok’s operations in the U.S. are overseen by American interests.
