COOS BAY, Ore. - A vehicle crash on Newmark Street has led to significant street flooding on Wednesday afternoon, according to the North Bend Fire Department.
North Bend fire officials said that a vehicle struck a fire hydrant around 12:20 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the 2000 block of Newmark Street, causing extensive flooding and pavement damage. Residents are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Standing water may be deeper than it appears and could conceal road damage.
Emergency and public works crews are on the scene. The Coos Bay-North Bend Water Board is working to isolate the water line and assess the damage.
Nearby customers might experience temporary low water pressure or discoloration while adjustments are made, authorities said. Close
