MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas — Nicolas Jaimes-Hernandez, a man accused of shooting and killing five people in McGregor in 2022 , has been transferred back to the McLennan County Jail after being found competent to stand trial.

Records show that Jaimes-Hernandez is facing multiple criminal counts, including three counts of capital murder.

Jaimes-Hernandez is accused of shooting and killing 38-year-old Monica Delgado, 15-year-old Miguel Avila, 14-year-old Natalie Avila, 47-year-old Lorena "Lori" Aviles and 20-year-old Natalie Aviles on Sept. 28, 2022.

Jaimes-Hernandez was recently found competent to stand trial after spending several months at a state mental hospital. He had previously been found incompetent to stand trial in late 2024 , and was moved to the facility after multiple petition
