Immigration attorneys who frequent the Dallas ICE office off Stemmons Freeway were able to provide more information about the office’s day-to-day operations.

“It’s a very sad and tragic situation,” said attorney Jamie Barron. “Nobody wishes harm to either the detainees or to the officers.”

Immigration attorneys tell NBC 5 the ICE office serves multiple purposes. It’s a public building where people may have check-ins with ICE or come to pay immigration bonds.

“People are just checking in and doing the right things, you know, doing what they’re suppose to be doing, and you know, it’s heartbreaking,” said attorney Eric Cedillo.
