BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Today’s Player of the Week honor goes to WKU running back La’Vell Wright, who’s fresh off his best game as a Hilltopper.

The grad transfer crossed the goal line twice in the second half and totaled nearly 50 yards on the ground against Nevada on just seven carries.

Wright is born and raised in the Bluegrass, graduating from North Hardin High School and even beginning his college career as a Wildcat at the University of Kentucky, but now in Bowling Green he’s becoming a pivotal piece in the team’s offense.

In 2024 at Austin Peay, Wright rushed for over 600 yards and five touchdowns, and now through just four games at WKU, he’s on pace to pass that touchdown total with now three this season.
