A 46-year-old inmate who escaped a Male Reentry Program in Los Angeles County in March has been taken into custody, authorities announced Wednesday.

Herber Ramosrauda was located Saturday in the city of Los Angeles by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Division and taken to the Metropolitan Detention Center, where he was turned over to the custody of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officials.

Ramosrauda’s case has been referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for possible formal escape charges.

He was sentenced to three years for second-degree robbery and transferred to a facility in Los Angeles County on May 13, 2024.
