WASHINGTON — A D.C. man is being held without bond after he was charged with the murder of his mother.

On Tuesday, officers with the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Ricardo Botts, 36, and charged him with second-degree murder while armed in connection with the death of Pamela Botts.

According to court documents, on Sunday at 3:53 a.m., OUC received a 911 call and heard a man and woman speaking, neither speaking directly to OUC. One minute later, OUC received a second phone call from a woman inside the home, who reported that Ricardo Botts had assaulted Pamela Botts.

The woman told police she began screaming for help after seeing Ricardo Botts standing over his mother in the living room. Police say Pamela Botts was stabbed repeatedly in the head and face in the living
