Laurel Co. Sheriff’s Office investigating potential threat involving middle school

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a potential threat involving a middle school.

The sheriff’s office posted on social media Wednesday evening that deputies are aware of the potential threat involving North Laurel Middle School, which was shared on social media by a parent.

The sheriff’s office says it is actively working in coordination with school police to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

As a precaution, there will be an increased law enforcement presence in the area, and deputies will conduct extra patrols.
