TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - With the anniversary of Hurricane Helene this week, one attraction in Valdosta is thankful to reopen this year.

The Moooody Haunted Trail was destroyed during the storm, with fallen trees on the property.

The team started setting up the scary decorations on Wednesday.

The organizers said the trail has been going strong for the past 40 years, and last year was the only year they missed because of Helene.

Trees fell on the property and crushed tents. The team said they lost thousands of dollars in equipment.

But now, they are back and ready to scare people. The setup just started, so the team has a lot more to add to the trial.

Aside from the haunted figures, team member Peta-Gaye Ford said it’s more about giving the community something to look forward to.
