(FOX40.COM) — Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on Wednesday that California has over 200,000 publicly available electric vehicle charging ports, lowering state-wide greenhouse gas emissions.

There are officially 201,180 EV charging ports available for the public statewide. According to the California Energy Commission, this is 68 percent more EV charger ports than the number of gasoline nozzles statewide.
“With this expanding public network, EV chargers are becoming ubiquitous in California,” CEC Commissioner Nancy Skinner said. “Our goal is to make driving an EV a no-brainer choice for Californians.
