JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A huge plot of land in Mandarin will soon be the site of a Mormon temple for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints . A road to the side of the plot has neighbors fearing what they say could soon cause bumper-to-bumper traffic jams.

Recently, the City of Jacksonville greenlit the $27 million dollar project. The 29,000 temple will be located on Loretto road.

But some residents in the area have traffic concerns.

One resident, Ralph Jansen, has lived in Mandarin for almost 40 years. He said he doesn’t think the flow of traffic will be smooth with the implementation of the new temple.

“My first thoughts are that Loretto road is too small for the size of campus that they’re going to build,” Jansen said. “It’s just a nightmare of traffic.”
